Szimpla Kert – Must to visit

Anyone who travels to Budapest will be suggested to visit a ruin pub. Ruin pubs are bars located inside old buildings which are old buildings left to be demolished. These buildings have been turned in to huge bars which consist of multiple floors, rooms and courtyards.

Szimpla Kert the oldest ruin pub in Budapest dates back to 2002 and since its opening has been a must to visit for any tourist coming to Budapest.  Housing its two floors, different rooms and huge courtyard outside Szimpla offers and experience not found anywhere else. Each room has its own décor and its own vibe. Depending on the visitors mood there is a room for everyone. Hip rooms with bathtubs turned in to couches with modern art on the wall or a more calm relaxing room with water-pipes are available with many different flavours. If looking for fresh air, Szimpla has its own huge courtyard with different bars at each end of the courtyard filled with tables and stools for amazing summer experience.

Szimpla has 5 different bars located inside its building, 3 of them serve anything from hard liquors to different beers however there is also a bar that only focuses on delicious cocktails and a bar that only houses traditional Hungarian liquors called Palinka ( Palinka is a traditional fruit brandy that is really famous around the Carpathian basin) Some of the local favorites consists of plum or peach palinka. On the second floor of Szimpla they also serve their own homemade hamburgers, fries and sandwiches for the ones who get hungry.

Szimpla is very unique with its own style of decoration each room has its own flavor. It is possible to see random computer parts, bicycle parts, doll heads hanging on the walls or the ceilings. Because the building it is located in is old and is in ruins describing it will never be enough to really understand how truly unique Szimpla Kert is every time you visit Szimpla it offers you a different experience.. Its fame is so big that it even has 2 branches that can be found in Berlin, Germany passing this ruin pub culture to other regions of Europe.
